Impact is funded by Stockport Primary Care Trust and is unique to Stockport.
The aim is to improve the health of local communities by offering funding to groups to start up health projects/activities. Every area of Stockport is part of an Impact group and each area has its own budget. Impact has funded lots of activities/projects in Stockport including allotment projects, equipment for scouts & brownies groups, sports equipment for youth groups, healthy eating courses, tai chi groups, falls prevention courses for the over 60's and many more. Impact also arranges various one off activities for you to get involved in e.g. 1st aid and self defence.
Every 3 months, each area has an open public meeting, which gives local residents the chance to say what health activities they would like to happen in their area. The meetings are very informal and a great way to find out what is going on in your community.
if you would like to be on the mailing list to receive the Impact community newsletter, please send your details to the Impact officer.
